Check this out

I found this site yesterday. I was looking for a better way to anchor my top layers of cake and I thought this site was perfect. A great help. Link below.

You are Cordially Invited to Wonderland

My daughter's 2nd birthday is coming up in a few weeks. We originally were going to throw her a Fancy Nancy party because she is such a lil' Diva. Well, the day before yesterday I ran across some Alice in Wonderland invitations and decided that I'd much rather have a Mad Hatter tea party! There's a picture below (I'd edited the bottom half because I'm not cool with posting the address and time of the party over the net). I am so excited, I plan on making a Topsy turvy cake and having mismatched dishes etc. We're going to dress funny too. It's going to be a ball. I also posted a pic of the cake I want to make below( and yes I have baking experience, it will be a challenge but I'll make it work, fondant fixes everything right? LOL)

Don't have much Time

Update: Yesterday I was suppose to go swimming with the kiddo's and hub's family but the younger two and myself came down with a bad cold so we stayed home. The rest of the family went ahead and from what I heard they had a ball. They went to "Splash" swim park in Springfield Oregon, where there's a wave pool. I'll post pictures when I get them.

Now I don't have much time to write today but I did want to say that today is my little man Gabriel's birthday and he is turning a whopping 7! We are having a little get together with family and friends tonight. There will be swimming, water fights, BBQ and a cake which I slaved over for the better part of the day, no joke, lol. It's called a "sinful chocolate truffle cake."

The pic below is a sinful chocolate truffle cake. This pic looks very similar to my cake but I didn't do the extra drizzle of lighter chocolate on top just the dark ganache.

Can you Hear the Music?

Often times I find myself watching my children and I suddenly realize that I have a record playing in my head off of the old Looney Toons. Like the chase scene type music. I highly reccomend it if you haven't tried it. Just watch your children( or anyone for that matter),pick out an old classical Looney tunes musical diddy and let the fun begin. Though I should warn you that trying this in public might end in some embarrassing results.Other's may wonder why you're laughing hysterically at nothing. It's always good to have a partner with you when trying this, that way you have a scape goat......;D

Wherever I may Roam

I'm tired but I can't sleep, so here I am. Sitting at my computer desk in a completely dark room except for the faint glow of some Christmas lights left up on a shelf across the room. I am not sure what to even write about. I have lot's of ideas but my brains all a fuzz. I wish I could say why I can't sleep but alas' ...I can't comment or speculate, lol. I do have a lot on my mind at the moment but it's enough information to write a series of novels...really boring one's. They could be perched right next to the Webster's series, they would be that much fun to read. You would think that living the life I lead would be exciting and it is but not the kind of excitement most might think of. It's the kind of excitement that makes your hair grey prematurely and gives you ulcers. The end result will be wonderful though, well worth all those grey's and late night's with Pepcid ac.

Diet Day 1

FAILURE FAILURE FAILURE...................

Well not completely, we did manage to use almond milk all day,we avoided butter, yogurt etc. But when it came to snack time I kept picking things without reading labels. So we still had some casein but alot less today. Now that I know.....I will be a bit more careful in the future. The kids loved the almond milk so that is a plus but the price of it is not. I read somewhere, recently, that if your child is legally labeled disabled that their "special foods" are partially tax deductible. Oh how I hope that's true!

I had a talk with the kids last night about the changes that are about to take place, something I should have done awhile ago. Nonetheless they received it well and they seem to be doing well with the changes today.....for now, I should say.

Real Housewives of New Jersey

Not gonna' lie, I am totally shamefully addicted to this show...you heard me right, shamefully. I would love to be a member, just to stay up to date. Although I don't think I would be well liked.......

Diet Phobia

Well today is payday and the day in which I begin to implement our new GF/CF diet. Well, for the next two weeks we are just going dairy free but that is still going to be a dramatic change for a family that chugs milk and coats everything in Parmesan and asiago. I've been doing a lot of reading on the TACA website about how to start the diet and build upon it.I have to say that I am not too thrilled about all the restrictions and how complicated things get once you hit the 10 week mark. I am also not looking forward to the withdrawals(which I am sure I'll be documenting on here.) I know there are substitutions to all my beloved products(milk, yogurt, cheese) but according to the diet it is best to avoid the substitutions until you are well into the diet otherwise there was some shenanigans about carb overload and yeast build up...I don't know what it was all about.Honestly at that point I gave up reading as it only made me want to cry, lol.

The diet itself is not the only problem. There is also the problem of implementing outside the home (ie;relatives, schools, friends and families houses) ,well I guess even some issues within the home. I mean my husband is probably going to be the biggest issue in this whole whoop-di-doo.The diet is expensive and that is going to be a factor as is the fact that hub's is a junk food/candy addict and has a whole shelf in the kitchen dedicated to this stuff. Now I realize he doesn't need to go on the diet but in my opinion it's an all or nothing diet. It's far to expensive to buy certain foods for one person in the house and another kind for everyone else. Blah blah blah now I'm running away with myself.....

War of the Children

I should have taken a picture.......

Gabriel decided he needed something from the tip top of the top cabinets. So he climbed up on a bar stool. He wasn't up there very long when Troy decided he needed that very same bar stool and pulled it out from under Gabriel. Gabe now has a lump right above his left eye with three little scratches on it. We lovingly call incidents like these, though rare, "war wounds." Because let's face it when you have all this testosterone under one little roof it's like a constant "war zone" though not always as cold and calculated. Now that we have Emma the wars have escalated due to "the little princess syndrome" running amok.

Back for Good

Well as sad as it is to say I must admit that I have broken off my relationship with the social networking site that is known as Facebook. I came to the conclusion that that site in particular is just not a good site for me personally. Now I have more time for my children, actually working(lol) and researching. Infact, today I found a site that is worthy of an "honorable mention." That site is http://gfcf-diet.talkaboutcuringautism.org/ or "TACA" for short. It's a website dedicated to living GF/CF free (gluten/casein free) in the battle against Autism.

The real reason behind picking this site is of course my own children, three of whom struggle with this disability. I have decided to make the switch to this diet starting this next week. According to all my research it's best to quit just casein alone in the first week. I guess that if you quit both(gluten/casein) at the same time it can cause withdrawal symptoms similar to that of coming off a drug addiction. I also learned that casein can be an addicting substance to some and that fast food is full of it which is why so many people can't quit fast food...meh, makes sense to muah, lol.

All that to say, I"M BACK!!!
